What a Shopify store costs
The real cost of a custom Shopify store, the monthly costs that come after launch, and what you can skip on day one.

Shopify is the most common way small brands start selling online. The platform is affordable, but a store that looks like your brand and sells well takes real work. Here is what it costs.
The short answer
Custom Shopify store: from $3,500 (₹90K), about 2 to 3 weeks.
That includes a theme set up and customized to your brand, your products and collections added, payments and shipping set up, a responsive design, and two rounds of changes.
Costs after launch
Shopify plan: paid monthly to Shopify.
Payment fees: a small percentage of each sale, set by your payment provider.
Apps: reviews, subscriptions, upsells and similar apps often have their own monthly fees.
Domain: paid yearly.
All of these are paid by you, directly, so the store and its accounts are always yours.
What changes the price
Number of products
Adding 20 products is quick. Adding 2,000 with variants, sizes and colours takes time. If you have many products, a spreadsheet import keeps the cost down.
Custom design
A customized theme is the standard build. A fully custom design, made from scratch for your brand, costs more and takes longer.
Extra features
Subscriptions, wholesale pricing, custom product builders and integrations with your warehouse or accounting tools add work. We list each one in the quote.
Moving from another platform
Moving products, customers and orders from another store is possible. It is quoted separately because it depends on how clean your current data is.
What to skip on day one
Too many apps. Each one adds a monthly fee and can slow the store down. Start with what you need to sell.
A blog. Useful later, not needed to launch.
Every payment method. Start with the ones your customers actually use.
After the store goes live
A store needs traffic. Many brands pair the build with ad creatives and social media, and a chatbot for order and shipping questions. Ongoing changes fit the subscription.
Questions people ask
Why Shopify and not a custom store?
Shopify handles payments, security and hosting, and your team can run it without a developer. For most brands that is cheaper and safer than a custom build.
Do I own the store?
Yes. It runs on your Shopify account, and everything we make is yours once paid in full.
